About Andrika King
Andrika King is a Los Angeles-based interior designer specializing in designing children's spaces including nurseries, children's rooms, playrooms, and family rooms. She was raised in Fort Worth, Texas and attended The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received a BA in Business Administration. Her technical Interior Design education is from the UCLA Interior Design program. Although she has lived in Southern California for over ten years and has embraced minimalist California design, she still holds true to her southern roots and is known for layering color, patterns, and textures in her imaginative children's designs.
Andrika previously owned and operated a 2700 sq ft children's store in Manhattan Beach called Sprout for five years before the birth of her son. Her experience owning and managing the store opened up personal relationships with children's vendors and taught her the importance of customer service and project management. (Her store Sprout was voted as one of the top five Children's stores in 2006 by Los Angeles Magazine.) After she closed the store, Andrika started her design business Andrika King Design and her highly acclaimed children's design blog Nursery Notations. Being a mother herself has aided Andrika to create spaces which both children and parents can enjoy and grow with.
